Item properties

Alpaca (WP)

The individual fibres of alpaca wool (WP) are amazingly fine and yet very strong and robust in the same breath. Each individual fibre also has insulating cavities. Thanks to these cavities, the wool has a low weight, but is still wonderfully warming. At the same time, the wool is so dense that it can effortlessly withstand all challenges such as cold, heat, wind and wetness.

Polyester (PL)

Polyester (PL) is a chemical and microfibre and is made of polyethylene terephthalate. Polyester fibres have the highest tear and abrasion resistance and are popular in many areas. The synthetic fabric is three times finer than silk and very easy to care for, non-iron, dimensionally stable, elastic, crease-resistant, soft, lightfast and weather-resistant. The synthetic fibre is heat-resistant, easy to wash and dries quickly. The sheen and feel of polyester is comparable to silk fabric. Combining it with natural fibres such as wool or cotton creates a fabric that is elastic but stable at the same time.

Wool (WO)

Wool (WO) is a natural animal fibre and often comes from sheep. Alternatively, wool can also be obtained from other animal species such as goats or alpacas. Depending on the origin, the properties and strength of the wool fibres can vary. Wool is one of the most functional natural materials and has a high resilience and elasticity. This property makes products made from wool almost wrinkle-free. Wool hardly absorbs dirt because the scales on the surface of the fibres almost literally repel dirt. This means that clothing made of wool rarely needs to be washed. For drying, normal airing is absolutely sufficient in most cases.

Viscose (CV)

Although viscose (CV) is a fibre produced by a chemical process that looks very similar to cotton, it would not be entirely correct to describe it as a purely synthetic fibre, as it consists of natural cellulose. Viscose has a shiny and even appearance and is also very absorbent and moisture-regulating. It is breathable and has a cooling effect. This makes it pleasant to wear. Moreover, viscose is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers. Since mainly natural means are used in its production, this fabric is sustainable and environmentally friendly at the same time.

Polyacrylic / Dralon (PAN)

Polyacrylic, or Dralon, is an acrylic material with a Teflon coating. The Dralon fabric has a high value for light fastness. Therefore, Dralon / polyacrylic is ideally suited for outdoor use as well as for upholstery for garden furniture, as a tablecloth or also as a rope tension awning for patio shading. Although Dralon is a robust and hard-wearing fabric, it is also soft and supple. Thanks to its Teflon coating, the Dralon fabric is water and dirt repellent and thus has built-in stain protection.
