Item properties
Virgin wool (WV)
Virgin wool (WV) is the name given to textile fibres obtained from the fur of living sheep. Sheep have served mankind for thousands of years as extremely versatile and useful livestock. Virgin wool is one of the oldest materials used for the production of textiles and clothing. The fibres of new wool are particularly elastic, which gives wool a very high quality. It is also remarkably colourfast, does not crease much and can hold its shape well. Wool is also very flame retardant, making it ideal for clothing.
Cashmere (WS)
Cashmere is one of the world's most valuable and expensive natural fibres and therefore fabrics. Due to its very fine fibres, the natural material is considered one of the highest quality types of wool and is therefore also referred to as fine wool. Thanks to its fineness, cashmere wool is very soft and wears very comfortably on the skin due to its high elasticity. Even at low temperatures, the excellent thermal insulation ensures cosy warmth. Compared to other types of wool, cashmere has a low weight.
Camel hair (WK)
Like cashmere, camel hair is a very fine and soft fabric that feels very pleasant on the skin. The wool has a yellowish to brownish colour. In their natural habitat, camels have to survive both hot days and cold nights, so this wool is ideal for making coats and bedspreads.
Polyamide (PA)
Polyamide is a synthetic fibre often used for clothing such as women's stockings or sportswear. The basis is carbon atoms, which are extracted from petroleum. Depending on the cross-section, polyamide fibres can be matt to shiny, coarse or bulky to fine. Polyamides are tough, very strong and stiff and have good abrasion and wear resistance. In addition, the fabric offers certain capabilities. It is waterproof, quick-drying, robust and dimensionally stable as well as tear-resistant, durable and elastic.
