Elastane (EL)

Elasthane or elastane (EL) is often referred to as spandex. This is a highly elastic synthetic fibre that is used to increase the elasticity of fabrics. However, the fibre is only added to fabrics. Elastane combines high elasticity with high strength. In the clothing sector, spandex is usually used in amounts of 2 to 30 percent.
